Review on the book "The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company That Is Connecting the World"

The Facebook Effect: The Inside Story of the Company That Is Connecting the World by David Kirkpatrick, published by Simon & Schuster, in June 2010.

If you want to know fairly accurately the history of Facbook and what its founder Mark Zuckerberg has in his mind, this is a very well written book to get you started. It saves you the initial trouble of researching the Web to glean useful information on Facebook.

The author has interviewed the founder Mark Zuckerberg himself and a lot of Facebook insiders, so he can cite their words directly which explain much better of their thoughts. Some of the stories you probably won't be able to get from other sources.

It remains to be seen how the Facebook effect will evolve as the author also discusses some concerning issues and the author's cool-headed analysis is much appreciated in all the hype surrounding Facebook.

The book also contains many anecdotes for cocktail party topics. :)
